I’m no longer attending births. I feel it’s best for my family and my mental health. It’s also given me the opportunity to explore how I can use art to influence our community.
My goal is to become a advocate for doulas and birth workers. I will continue to advocate for breastfeeding and educate families within my community. I hope to educate, inspire and normalize the birth process. My website will be used to promote my art and also provide resources for families and professionals in Baltimore. Through art I hope to influence the change in our birth culture. I hope to target black families and help them during their journey into parenthood.
I’m using my experience as a birth doula to support my community through art and blogs. I would like to be considered as a birth worker because my art is about the birth experience. You can call me an art doula too! My doula journey will be through my “art project” (more details to come) and birth art services like belly casting.
Although I’m straying away from commission work I still need the support of my community. Feel free to send any suggestions. You can also send birth photos to be considered to paint. I appreciate your support and feedback. This is simply how I thrive and grow as a artist.
